What this Journal is
The Tsubaki Journal publishes pharmaceutical-affairs information about Japan: regulatory changes, drug-safety notices, regenerative medicine and frontier treatments, and practical guides to how medicines are classified and sold in Japan. It is written for overseas buyers, healthcare businesses and general readers who need to understand Japanese rules.
What it is not
Journal content is information only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or a treatment or medication recommendation, and it is not advertising for prescription medicines. For any decision about your health or a specific medicine, consult a physician or pharmacist and read the official package insert.
Who writes it
Articles are researched and written by the Tsubaki Trading editorial team.
How we source
We cite in this order of preference:
- Official government and regulator sources (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; PMDA; prefectural authorities)
- Public institutions, university hospitals and academic bodies
- Official company announcements and disclosures
- Peer-reviewed literature
- Established professional and industry media
Regulatory boundaries we follow
- Prescription medicines and Kampo are presented as a catalogue and enquiry route for licensed institutions only. We do not sell them to consumers, and we do not publish efficacy or indication advertising for them to the general public.
- OTC medicines are currently display-and-enquiry only.
- Health foods are foods, not medicines. We do not claim that they treat or prevent disease.
Information status and updates
Articles covering regulation or pricing carry an information-status date. When rules change, we revisit the affected articles. The Journal index shows the last-updated date for every article.
Corrections
If you find an error, an outdated figure, or a source we should cite, tell us through the contact form. We review every report and update the article where warranted.
