What is JMIP?
JMIP (Japan Medical Service Accreditation for International Patients) is a national accreditation launched in 2012 and operated by the Japan Medical Education Foundation. It evaluates hospitals on their ability to receive international patients — multilingual guidance and culturally- and religiously-considerate care. Other quality marks you will see include JCI (Joint Commission International) and the government-recommended Japan International Hospitals (JIH) listing. JMIP official site ↗

Accreditation labels show only what we were able to verify against the official JMIP register and MEJ's Japan International Hospitals list on 19 July 2026. MEJ "recommends" hospitals as Japan International Hospitals; this is not a certification. Where no label is shown it means we could not verify it, not that the hospital lacks accreditation. Please confirm current status with the hospital.
